I just graduated from Doane University this spring. I grew up at Martyrs and went to Pius for high school.

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

My favorite saint is St. Joseph. The biggest reasons are his humility and obedience. He doesn't get the spotlight are much recognition but still shows his undeniable faith. He does whatever the Lord asks of him and he does not question it.

What is your favorite Bible or Saint quote?

1 Corinthians 10:13 – “No trial has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial He will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.”

What is your favorite prayer and why?

I like the Serenity Prayer. It helps me acknowledge the differences I can make in life. I can pick and choose my battles so I can make the best impact I can while knowing that I won't be able to fix everything.

Why did you choose to teach at a Catholic school? Or why did you choose to teach at St. John’s?

I chose a Catholic School because I believe that some morals and specific outlooks on life can only be taught through a school setting that emphasizes faith, hope and love.
