How long have you been at St. John School?
This is my first year at St. John's, I'm super excited!
What grade/subject are you teaching? Staff - where will you be working?
I'll be teaching K-3rd Library
How long have you been teaching and/or when did you start teaching? If Staff - including St. Johns time, how long have you been doing the same type of job?
This is my first year teaching. I love reading, and have always thought it would be fun to be a librarian.
What are a couple unique qualities/skills about you?
I love to garden, read, knit, and ride bikes. I'm left handed and I've traveled to Ghana, Africa for a mission trip in college.
What are some personal items the families might like to know?
I'm from Des Moines, IA and attended Benedictine college in Atchison, KS (Go Ravens!). I've been in the convent for almost 2 years.
Who is your favorite Saint and why?
Saint Benedict! I am constantly inspired by his docility and perseverance in doing God's will. He pursued Christ with all he had and encouraged others to do the same. He and his sister, St. Scholastica, are a beautiful example of encouraging others to be Saints.
What is your favorite Bible or Saint quote?
Saint Philip Neri often said, “Prefiero el Paraíso (I prefer heaven).” He sang this joyfully, along the streets of Rome and with the children he cared for, seeking to emulate Jesus in all his encounters.
What is your favorite prayer and why?
Loving Mother of the Redeemer. This prayer showers Mary with many beautiful titles, Star of the Sea being my personal favorite. Mary is our light in the darkness, our guide to Jesus.
