Dear Parents,

Welcome to Art Class! My name is Mr. Bobbett or Mr. B. (Parents are free to call me Greg). It is my hope that the kids not only enjoy art class but learn something while they are creating refrigerator masterpieces. We will go over a lot of different types and styles of art as the year proceeds, some easy and some not so easy. All I really ask of the students is that they come prepared to do their best and try their hardest to be creative in their art. I also believe that everybody has the ability to create outstanding art regardless of their natural artistic talents. It is important that the students don't just jump in feet first and do only the very basics. They will not only miss out on a better grade but the experience and joy in creating something they can be really proud of! The biggest hint I can give all the students is to take their time and think through each project. Well, that and having a well-produced project that is neat and precise is almost always a good thing. I say 'almost' because it is art...and art can be messy!

The 2018-19 school year will be my eighth year teaching at St. John's school.

Have you always wanted to be a teacher? If not what was your "dream job"?

No/maybe/Yes. I did think about it as a teenager, but I wanted to work with computers more. My dream job would actually be an Art Director for a design firm.

Favorite Book:

My all-time favorites would be Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" series and Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I am a Fantasy and Science Fiction fan mostly, but I also enjoy the classics from Homer to Shakespeare and Poe to Steinbeck.

Favorite thing to do in your free time:

Spend time with my loved ones. Work on repurposing stuff into furniture.

Best summer adventure:

Adventure Land with my daughters

Favorite Prayer:

Really don't have one.

Favorite School Lunch:

Hmm...really hard one. I really like Paula's cooking. Even with all the restrictions, she is made to follow, I think she does a superb job.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

All the new blood. Fresh ideas and faces are exciting.
