Mrs. Lori Weier

I am the Special Education Coordinator.
How long have you been teaching and/or when did you start teaching? If Staff - including St. Johns time, how long have you been doing the same type of job?
This is my 9th year of teaching. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and now resource all in the Diocese of Lincoln.
What are a couple unique qualities/skills about you?
I love to try new recipes, play with my kids, go hiking and swimming, watch movies, and enjoy nature.
What are some personal items the families might like to know?
I am happily married and am blessed to have three beautiful, healthy kids. I have my college degree in Inclusive Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have lived in Nebraska all my life and love the feeling of home I get here at St. Johns.
Who is your favorite Saint and why?
My favorite saint is St. Gianna. She truly knew what it meant to value life and to put her kids before herself. She is a beautiful example of motherhood to me.
What is your favorite Bible or Saint quote?
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” - Mother Theresa. Even if it seems like the same old, same old, the mundane can be a beautiful offering to God for his glory.
What is your favorite prayer and why?
The Serenity prayer. Any other Type A people out there? It reminds me to control the things I can and to let go and let God.
Why did you choose to teach at a Catholic school? Or why did you choose to teach at St. John’s?
St. John's is by far the best place I have ever taught. It is our parish for my family and it was just an easy fit for me to bring my career along to where we felt at home.
