This will be my first year at St. John's.

I will be teaching Kindergarten.

How long have you been teaching and/or when did you start teaching? If Staff - including St. Johns time, how long have you been doing the same type of job?

This is my second year of teaching. I taught my first year in 2nd grade in a Catholic school in Omaha.

What are a couple unique qualities/skills about you?

I love traveling! I have been all over the world (14 different countries and 24 states). One of the most unique places I have been to is the UK and Albania. I also love playing board games and spending time in nature.

What are some personal items the families might like to know?

I am the oldest of three girls. I moved to Nebraska when I was in Kindergarten from St. Louis Missouri. I got my undergraduate degree from Northwest Missouri State in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I plan on going back to school in the fall to earn a specialization in Social Emotional Learning.

Who is your favorite Saint and why?

St. Teresa of Calcutta: She was always trying to do good and show everyone love. I strive to be more like her every day. She was bold and listened to God without fear, trusting in him always. Her spirit was kind. I also love St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton. She is my confirmation saint. I felt close to her being a teacher. And when it came to start my teaching career she was there guiding me.

What is your favorite Bible or Saint quote?

I love all the quotes from Mother Teresa but two I find to be very powerful are:
“Not all of us can do great things but we can do small things with great love. Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”

What is your favorite prayer and why?

Hail Mary: I love our Mother Mary and whenever I pray it I feel her near.

Why did you choose to teach at a Catholic school? Or why did you choose to teach at St. John’s?

I am so excited to be teaching at St. John's. I have loved teaching at a catholic school and am thrilled to get the chance to continue to bring students closer to Jesus and share my faith with them. I love teaching in a catholic school because you can watch your students grow in faith with Our Father while getting to grow in your own faith right alongside them. I find that to be so beautiful and rewarding.
